Winter 2010/2011 Surfs been pretty average for the time of year its been a time of travel to find good waves

Skindog Surfboards, Ben Skinner visited Viking Bay and Revolution to deliver the Kent model surfboard a fuller thicker short board designed for the Kent coast. The board is a Quad fin however future boards will have the "Transformer" fin system which will give the user the best of all fin set ups. Dan has been using the test model and loving it. Boards available summer 2011 through Revolution Skate/Surf Shop

Summer 2010

A great summer in our new location, lots of new and exciting equipment, including double/single kayaks. Lots of people enjoyed great lessons with good surf conditions and all water sports sessions went down a storm.

Kent Surf School moves to new location on Viking Bay (summer 2010), we are now located in between the two main steps in the centre of the beach.

Winter 09/10 had some great surf sessions but was one of the coldest winters for years, even sneaked in a snowboard tow session in too.

K.S.S closed June 09, due to all staff lifeguarding on the film set of Robin Hood.

Beach Clean has been arranged for 29th March 09 from after 9am, a great chance to do your bit to help keep our beaches clean.

Surf Video nights have been organized in the Barnaby Rudge Public house, the next one will be Tuesday 17th March 09 showing Mr B's Substance. 7.30 onward.

Winter 08/09 was a cold one but still not as much surf as we would have hoped for however the days that did work were good and not busy so that's always a treat.  1000's of tons of timber was washed up on our shores after falling from a cargo ship in the channel, it didn't hang about too long though as the helpful people of Thanet soon cleared it away!

SUMMER 2008 was a terrible season, mainly for sunshine but the surf wasn't that great either. Too many SW breezes chopping up the ocean and not that many swells pushing through. We did have loads of fun on the swell boards all season though and are fingers are crossed for a better 2009.

SAD NEWS, On February 10th 2008, Marilyn Beugg passed away peacefully after a year long fight with cancer. Marilyn was a beach favourite to many generations. She ran the trampolines and the rest of Kiddies Corner on Viking bay for 30 years and helped to guide many youngsters who knew her as a mother figure.
Her funeral took place on 22nd Feb. Our thoughts go out to Rick, Alex and Vicky. She will be sorely missed.
